The Lincoln Aviator has been one of Akron's most sought-after mid-size luxury SUVs since its introduction in 2020. Lincoln is preparing to release an updated version of the Aviator with some exciting new changes. Lincoln revealed a prototype of the updated Aviator was spotted, and Ken Ganley Lincoln Middle Heights is here to bring the details to Cleveland, Ohio, area car buyers.

Minor Styling Tweaks

The updated Aviator will feature minor exterior styling tweaks like a new front-end chrome strip or possible light bar that joins the daytime running lights and headlights. Last year, Lincoln previewed the update on its Star concept adding more luxury and sophistication to the already stunning Aviator design. The prototype also features some makeshift cameras mounted to the front doors and new sensors in the front fascia, part of the advanced ActiveGlide driver-assist system.

Redesigned Interior

The interior of the updated Aviator has also undergone some significant changes, with a bigger infotainment screen that now spans the width of the center stack. The lower section controls in the center stack and console also have larger designs, including the push-button gear selector making the interior more user-friendly and intuitive for Medina area drivers.

Upgraded Technology

The updated Aviator prototype has some exciting new technology features that Lincoln is testing, including a more advanced version of ActiveGlide. This driver-assist technology uses sensors and cameras to help drivers navigate and avoid obstacles on any road near Strongsville, Ohio. It may also get a new infotainment system with improved functionality and easier-to-use controls.

Powertrain Options

The updated Aviator will probably continue offering the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, along with the Aviator Grand Touring plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that pairs an electric motor with the V6 engine for a combined 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. However, Lincoln may tweak the powertrain to improve efficiency or increase power output.

Electric Versions

Lincoln also announced that an electric Aviator is in the works and may arrive for the 2025 model year. It's expected to have a dedicated EV platform and may feature distinctive styling from its gas-powered sibling.
