Lincoln Driver Assistance Features at a Glance
You can learn about and discover all the features on Lincoln vehicles that provide added safety and make the drive better for you.
Lincoln Forward and Reverse Sensing Systems
New Lincoln models are equipped with Forward Sensing System, which is able to detect at low speeds when another vehicle or hazard such as safety pillars in front of you. It will chime an alert for you to apply the brakes as you get closer. The same applies when backing out of a spot or parallel parking. These are located on the front and rear bumper to let you know what's behind you in conjunction with your rearview camera. Those who use these find it much easier to maneuver through suburban and city streets.
Lincoln Active Park Assist
This is another feature you will find on select Lincoln vehicles that help you park in parallel parking spots not just with sensors, but it does the work for you. All you have to do is approach the parking space, press the Active Park Assist button, and signal which side you'd like the sensors to search. Then, scan for spots, and when it finds a spot, it will chime. From there, you follow the screen instructions, put the car in reverse, and slowly back up controlling the brake and accelerator. The system maneuvers the steering wheel for you. If you have to interrupt the process, just press the button again, or take hold of the steering wheel.
Lincoln Head-Up Display (HUD)
Some new Lincoln models will come equipped with a head-up display. This will put important vehicle information and data on the windshield that you can see as your drive via a transparent projection. It is a feature there to ensure you are keeping your eyes on the road and can view information like navigation, lane keeping system, and adaptive cruise control.
Lincoln Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering
This is the more advanced adaptive cruise control feature. It helps you set and maintain a cruising speed in highway settings, as it will keep a safe driving distance between you and other vehicles, and slow down and get back to speed as needed. With stop and go, you can even come to a complete stop if the situation calls for it onboard the system. Adding in lane centering it will make sure your steering stays within the lanes as well.
Lincoln Speed Sign Recognition
If you set this system, the vehicle can identify speed limit signs and adjust to bring it to the level of the speed sign. For example, if you are cruising and the speed sign says 50 miles per hour, your set cruise speed will be set to 50 miles per hour when this is activated.
