The new Lincoln Navigator vs. the new Cadillac Escalade
If you're in the market for a new full-size luxury SUV, your shopping list might be narrowed down to the new Lincoln Navigator and the Cadillac Escalade. At Ken Ganley Lincoln Middleburg Heights in Middleburg Heights OH, we believe both these SUVs have a lot to recommend them but the new Lincoln Navigator rises higher. We believe you'll be impressed by the performance of the Navigator along with the wide range of trims and more affordable pricing. Here is a comparison of the two and why we believe the Navigator is your best choice.
A comparison of pricing and trim levels
The new 2023 Lincoln Navigator offers buyers in Cleveland and Akron, OH a choice of five trim levels while the new Cadillac Escalade offers six trim levels. Both vehicles come with a short wheelbase model and an extended-length body style and you can make that decision on how important extra length is for you. What's significant is that the Lincoln Navigator has a base-level price that's lower than the Cadillac Escalade.
At the high end, the Lincoln Black Label L is available for a base price that's less than $115,000 while the highest-end Cadillac Escalade costs more than $150,000. With two vehicles that are so closely matched in terms of features, the Escalade is clearly overpriced and the Lincoln Navigator is an outstanding value.
A comparison of engines and performance
The Lincoln Navigator has only one engine but it's a very powerful one: A 3.5-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo engine that generates 440 horsepower. The Cadillac Escalade has a much bigger 6.2-liter 8-cylinder engine and yet it delivers only 420 horsepower. Both vehicles can fly from zero to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds.
But when comparing all-wheel drive models, the Lincoln Navigator gives you 510 pound-feet of torque while the Cadillac Escalade gives you only 460 pound-feet of torque. What's more, the Lincoln Navigator has a maximum towing capacity of 8,700 pounds while the Cadillac Escalade can pull only 8,200 pounds. Clearly, the Lincoln Navigator is the more powerful option.
A comparison of fuel efficiency
The Lincoln Navigator wins once again when it comes to getting more out of a gallon of gasoline. The Lincoln Navigator gives you 17 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on highways around Medina and Strongsville OH while the Cadillac Escalade gives you only 14 MPG in the city and 19 MPG on the highway. In a world of inflated prices, the new Navigator is a better choice
A comparison of interior comfort
The Lincoln Navigator allows you to carry up to eight passengers depending on the configuration while the Cadillac Escalade has room for only seven. The latest version of the Lincoln Navigator offers heated seats and ventilation in both the first and second rows while the Cadillac Escalade gives you standard heated seats only in the front and doesn't offer ventilation for seats in the second row.
A comparison of internal and external space
The Lincoln Navigator can add an extra seat because it has more space in the cabin. Passenger volume for the new Navigator is 172.1 cubic feet while the Cadillac Escalade gives you only 168.4 cubic feet. The Navigator is longer at 221.9 inches vs. the Cadillac Escalade with only 211.9 inches.
