New Lincoln Aviator

Experience the Luxuriousness of the New Lincoln Aviator

The Lincoln Aviator is an upscale, midsize SUV that offers strong acceleration, abundant tech, and a comfortable three-rows of luxury seating. But this year, the Aviator is being redesigned, and it will now provide a fresh look and even more tech, making it an even better model. If you've been after a lively SUV that can comfortably seat seven, the new Aviator is for you, and you can pick one up at Ken Ganley Lincoln Middleburg Heights.

What's New?

The new Aviator is refreshed inside and out. All Aviators now offer Akron and Medina drivers the Blue Cruise hands-free driving tech and a new front fascia with an updated grille and headlights. There's also a new lighting strip under the vehicle that flashes as the driver approaches the SUV and again when the vehicle is locked or walks away.

Inside, is also updated with a new 13.2-inch touchscreen and a 12.4-inch digital gauge. There's also a new interface which is said to be Lincoln's fastest system and features Google Maps, Google's voice assistant, and other apps.

Drivers interested in the more upscale Black Label models will also see new additions to the trim, like a new interior design called Invitation and an optional Special Edition package with a black-painted roof and 22-inch Ebony Black wheels.

Vehicle Design

The updated look of the Aviator gives it a sleeker appearance when looking at it head-on. From the side, it looks much like last year's model. The cabin, too, has mostly stayed the same, as it can still be configured to accommodate six or seven passengers. The third row is still small and best suited to small children. This tradeoff means there's a decent cargo area with the seats in the upright position. When the seats are up, there are 18 cubic feet of storage space. With the seats folded, the space expands to a max area of 77.7 cubic feet.

Vehicle Performance

While much of the Aviator has changed, the powertrain options have not. This model is still powered by a 400-hp twin-turbo V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is still standard, and all-wheel is optional. Since there are no engine changes, the fuel economy remains the same at an estimated 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive and 17 mpg city and 24 mpg with all-wheel-drive.

Technology

New to the Aviator is an updated dashboard with a 12.3-inch digital gauge and a 10.1-inch touchscreen. The touchscreen offers controls for satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. In higher trims, Strongsville residents will get a Revel Ultima 3D audio system with 28 speakers access and a smartphone app instead of a key to unlock and start the vehicle.

Safety

As with most Lincoln models, the Aviator comes with the Co-Pilot360 system. Found in this bundle are standard features like a forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance, a rearview camera, and more. Additionally, customers can upgrade to the optional Co-Pilot360 1.5 Plus to receive adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and a self-parking system.
